Josep Franch is the Dean of Esade Executive Education since January 2023, where he is an associate professor in marketing. Prior to that he served as Dean of Esade Business School between 2014 and 2022. Esade Executive Education aims to become the preferred Lifelong Learning partner for individuals and organizations, recognized by its pedagogical innovation, cutting-edge contents and value-based training. For the Academic Year 2024/25, Esade Executive Education has an operational budget of €30 million and offers a suite of Executive Master degrees, a portfolio of open enrollment programs and corporate learning solutions, custom programs, training 10,000+ participants a year. Dean Franch has been involved in all the relevant international networks of higher management education (EFMD, AACSB, AMBA&BGA, Unicon, CLADEA, PRME, FOME, IAJBS, IAJU, Eduniversal…), where he has often been a featured speaker. He is a board member of AMBA & BGA, and also sits in International Boards or Advisory Boards for different international schools in three continents. He has conducted 34 international accreditations for AACSB and AMBA&BGA, 22 of them as peer review team or panel chair, in 21 different countries.
As faculty member, Professor Franch is an expert in international and global marketing, and his main area of specialization is brand management in multinational and global companies. He has also worked on subjects related to digital marketing and relationship marketing. Professor Franch has an extensive teaching experience in more than fifteen countries and across three continents. From an educational point of view, he is one of the main European experts in the case study method. He has published more than 50 case studies in the fields of marketing and international business, has won the EFMD Case Writing Competition on three occasions (1999, 2001 and 2013) and has also obtained three case writing awards at the North American Case Research Association (NACRA) Annual Conferences (2004, 2010 and 2015).
Professor Franch has previous experience as marketing manager at Fuji Film and has worked as consultant for different companies, including FC Barcelona, Interroll, Novartis, Soler & Palau, Sony and Xerox. He has also worked in many custom programs with different companies including: APM Terminals, Bunge, Desigual, Esteve, Novartis, Roca, Roland DG, Saint-Gobain, Sony, Telefónica and Tenaris.
