Argentinian by birth and Portuguese at heart, as he likes to say, Chakall followed his family’s karma and became a chef.
Before that, he earned a degree in Communication and worked as a journalist for seven years—until he realized that wasn’t the life he wanted. He then decided to leave behind a promising career and travel the world while figuring out what he truly wanted to be when he “grew up”, and inevitably, destiny led him to the kitchen.
A natural communicator, he loves experimenting with new flavors, meeting people, and exploring different cultures. A true citizen of the world, he enjoys bringing together diverse influences, friends, and simple, unpretentious food around the table.
His career spans multiple ventures: a catering and events company, the creation and mentorship of several restaurants, executive chef and consultant roles in about a dozen restaurants across Portugal, and the development of two franchising concepts and agri-food products. He has hosted over a dozen television shows in Portugal, Spain, Germany, China, and the Dominican Republic, and has authored several books published in multiple countries and languages. Fluent in seven languages, Chakall has been recognized with numerous awards over the past two decades, including multiple Gourmand Awards, known as the “Oscars of Gastronomy.”
These are just numbers—tangible facts—but as he puts it, his career is as simple and unpretentious as his approach to cooking.
