Madalena Talone

Madalena Talone is Executive Board Member of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, S.A., where she oversees the areas of Transformation, Digital Business and Omnichannel Solutions, Operations, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology and Systems.

She is also a member of the General Council of COTEC Portugal, an independent external member of the General Council of the University of Lisbon, a member of the Strategic Council for the Digital Economy of the Portuguese Business Confederation (CIP), and a member of the Strategic Council of Rede Capital Social – Associação de Filantropia Estratégica.

She holds a degree in Environmental Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon and an MBA from Columbia University in New York. She has also pursued continuous executive education at leading international institutions, including the Wharton Advanced Risk Management Program (Wharton University), the Executive Program in Innovation and Exponential Thinking (Singularity University, Silicon Valley), the Strategic Leadership Program (ISEG / Columbia Business School), and the High Performance Boards program (IMD – International Institute for Management Development).

Throughout more than 20 years in banking, she has led large-scale teams and projects across areas such as organizational transformation, digital business, artificial intelligence, marketing and business development, operations, and information technology — first at Banco BPI (CaixaBank Group), where she worked for 17 years, and since 2021 at Caixa Geral de Depósitos. She began her professional career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company.

Additionally, she served as Non-Executive Board Member of the SIBS Group (2022–2024) and Vice-Chair of the General Assembly Board of COTEC Portugal (2022–2025). She is also a member of the Advisory Board of Associação Terra dos Sonhos and The Circle, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting leadership opportunities for women at C-level. She is a frequent speaker at conferences on artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and innovation in the financial sector.
