Luís Menezes

CEO of Grupo Ageas Portugal, Luís Menezes has 20 years of an extensive experience as a manager of relevant companies. Luís Menezes has a degree in Economics from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP). He also has qualifications from the International Directors Program and the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD, and a postgraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence for Business from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.

In his professional career, Luís Menezes has been the CEO of Unilabs Portugal for 18 years and he drove the company’s expansion in Portugal while also leading operations in the United Arab Emirates, Peru, and the United Kingdom. Previously, Luís Menezes was a Senior Advisor at Explorer Investments, Fundação Ilídio Pinho and at JP Morgan Chase, in London.

In addition to his vast business experience, Luís Menezes was also a member of the Portuguese Parliament, where, between 2009 and 2014, was the first vice-president of Social Democratic Party Parliamentary Group with the coordination of Economic Affairs Committee.

Coming from a family with a strong medical tradition, Luís Menezes followed his own path by developing a passion for management. Outside the corporate universe, he finds inspiration in his family, sports, travels, and reading, especially biographies and historical books. Luís Menezes believes in perseverance, justice and the importance of never give up, values that are reflected in his admiration for the book “Endurance” by Alfred Lansing and the movie “The Shawshank Redemption” directed by Frank Darabont.
