António Pires de Lima is 62 years old and has five daughters.

Holds a degree in Economics from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (1984) and completed an MBA at IESE, Barcelona in 1986.

As an economist and manager, he has been the CEO of Grupo Brisa Autoestradas since 2020. He has been a Senior Advisor at Bank of America since 2019, and President of BCSD since 2022. Other notable professional roles include serving as a non-executive Board Member at the Serralves Foundation (2016-2022), CEO of Compal (1993-2005), CEO of Unicer/Superbock Group (2006-2013), and Chief Transformation Officer at Parfois (2017-2019).

In politics, he was a member of CDS, serving as Minister of Economy (2013-2015) and President of the Cascais Municipal Assembly (2005-2014). He was also a member of the Portuguese Parliament from 1999 to 2001 and 2005 to 2007. He served as President of the CDS National Council (2007-2014) and Vice-President of CDS (2004-2006).

He was President of EPIS (Entrepreneurs for Social Inclusion) from 2010 to 2013, President of APCV, and Grand Master of the Beer Brotherhood.

On March 7, 2016, the President of the Republic, Professor Aníbal Cavaco Silva awarded him the Order of Infante Dom Henrique.
