Pedro Reis

Pedro Reis holds a degree in Management and Business Administration from the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), complemented by executive programs at Harvard Business School (Strategic Finance), INSEAD (AMP – Advanced Management Program), and UCP (PAGE – Advanced Management Program for Executives). Throughout his career, he received distinctions such as the “Prize for Managers of the Future” (JNICT, Egon Zehnder and Fortunas e Negócios), the “Best Leader Awards” for Best Leader in a Government Company, the “Personality of the Year” distinction (Interfranchising and the National Franchising Association), and the “Prize for Integration and Welcoming” from the Chinese Community League in Portugal. In 2014, he was decorated with the insignia of Great Official of the Order of Infante D. Henrique for his service in the internationalization of the Portuguese economy.

With more than two decades of experience in management and business consulting across engineering, furniture, advertising, communication, and financial services, he served as Chairman and CEO of AICEP from 2011 to 2014, also participating in several national councils related to entrepreneurship, innovation, industry, and investment. He served on the Coordinating Group for Economic and Investment Affairs and chaired the jury of the national “Economic Diplomacy” prize organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From 2014 to 2022, he held several executive positions at Millennium bcp, including Senior Adviser to the Executive Committee, CEO of BCP Capital, Head of Corporate Strategic Marketing & Business Development, and Head of Institutional Banking. He also maintained a strong presence in media as a columnist and commentator, authored the book Back to Growth, and took on leadership and advisory roles in media groups, business associations, competitiveness think tanks, and innovation organizations, including the Editorial Council of ECO, the Advisory Board of Imagens de Marca, the Fiscal Council of COTEC Portugal, and the State Working Group of Business Roundtable Portugal (BRP).

Since 2015, he has been involved in several institutional platforms and councils, including Portugal XXI, the Strategic Advisory Committee of Universidade Lusíada, the Consulting Council of the International Club of Portugal, the Consulting Council of Portugal Agora, the Advisory Committee of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, the Strategic Council of Proforum, the General Assembly of SDM (Madeira Development Agency), the Strategic Council for Foreign Direct Investment Attraction of CIP, and the Supreme Council of the Portuguese Red Cross.

In April 2024, he was appointed Minister of Economy of the XXIV Government of the Republic of Portugal, serving until June 2025.

He currently serves as Vice Chairman of Cimpor’s Strategic Council and as an Executive Board Member of the António Pargana Foundation.
