Pedro Matias has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of ISQ since March 2017.

He holds a degree in Management and a Master’s in Economics and Management of Science, Technology, and Innovation. Prior to his current role, he served as Vice President of IAPMEI, Vice President of the Lisbon Technology Hub, and President of various Investment Funds and Companies. He was also a Board Member at APCER, a member of the Board of Startup Lisboa, and has held multiple positions within the Portuguese Public Administration, including as an Advisor to the Portuguese Government.

Pedro has also been involved with several international organizations such as the OECD and served as Advisor to the European Commissioner for Research within the European Research Advisory Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the IIW – International Welding Institute, and the TIC Council – Testing, Inspection & Certification Council.
