Lídia Monteiro

Lídia Monteiro has been a Member of the Board of Directors at Turismo de Portugal since 2023, overseeing national and international promotion of Portugal as a tourism destination. She is also responsible for supporting the internationalization of Portuguese tourism companies, air connectivity and tour operations, and international relations. Additionally, she coordinates Turismo de Portugal’s network of international offices.

Previously, she served as the Coordinating Director of Sales Support at Turismo de Portugal, as well as the Director of Communication for the organization and for ACP. She also worked as a Coordinator at ICEP.

With over 25 years of experience in marketing and communication, she has been a member of the working groups for the Marca Portugal and Marcas Portuguesas projects. Throughout her career, she has participated in various interministerial committees and executive boards. She is currently a member of the Certification Committee for the Caminhos de Santiago in Portugal and chairs the Advisory Board of the Côa Parque Foundation.

She has been responsible for some of the most awarded and recognized tourism promotion campaigns in Portugal. In recent years, she has focused on the development of cultural and literary tourism, wine tourism, and gastronomy. A frequent speaker at tourism and marketing conferences, she has made significant contributions to the industry.

In 2018, she was named Marketing Personality of the Year, and in 2022, she was awarded Marketeer of the Year by Meios & Publicidade. In 2024, she received the UTAD Alumni Award, the first-ever recognition of professional and civic merit granted by the university.
