Diogo Telles Correia is a Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist, and Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Lisbon School of Medicine, University of Lisbon, where he leads the University Clinic of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology and teaches Psychiatry, Psychopathology, and History of Medicine. He also lectures Forensic Psychiatry at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and serves as a senior psychiatrist at Hospital de Santa Maria. Additionally, he is a visiting professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil.
He is the author of ten books aimed at both general readers and professionals, including manuals recommended by universities in Portugal, Brazil, and Portuguese-speaking African countries. He has published over one hundred articles and book chapters in national and international scientific journals and publications. He is a member of editorial boards of several international journals in the fields of psychiatry and mental health.
He is a founding member and former president of the Portuguese Psychopathology Association, president of the Liaison Psychiatry Section of the European Psychiatric Association, and a member of the Portuguese Association of Behavioral, Cognitive and Integrative Therapies (APTCCI), where he completed his postgraduate training in Psychotherapy, among several other national and international scientific associations.
His books published by Bertrand include Pensar. Sentir. Viver (“Think. Feel. Live”), co-authored with Judite Sousa; A Ansiedade nos Nossos Dias (“Anxiety in Our Times”), and Guia Prático para Vencer a Ansiedade (“Practical Guide to Overcoming Anxiety”).
