Daniela Assunção
Journalist & Director
@ Porto Canal
From an early age, she knew journalism and the broader field of humanities would shape her future. At just 15 years old, she decided to pursue a path in media and communication — a decision that would define her professional journey.
She graduated in Communication Sciences from the University of Porto, completed an internship at RTP, and began her career outside journalism at a time when the media industry was highly saturated.
A few years later, she joined Porto Canal following the arrival of FC Porto and the expansion of the channel’s operations. She started as a journalist and spent a decade dedicated to the newsroom, covering reports and live broadcasts.
Originally from São João da Madeira, she progressively took on leadership responsibilities within Porto Canal. Before becoming part of the channel’s management team, she served as General News Coordinator, overseeing news programs, guests, and special broadcasts.
As a journalist and presenter, she became one of the leading faces of the international affairs program Lá Fora, dedicated to analyzing global current affairs through debates with experts in geopolitics, international law, and international relations, as well as programs focused on the policies shaping the region.
