Paulo Rios has been an Executive Board Member of the Board of Directors of AICEP – Portugal Trade & Investment Agency since June 4, 2024.

He is a member of the Executive Committee of FITEC – Innovation, Technology and Circular Economy Fund, as well as of the Advisory Board of APCER – Portuguese Certification Association. He also serves as an advisory member of the Sectoral Advisory Commission for the Internationalization of the Agri-Food Sector (CCS-ISA). In parallel, he works as a business consultant in the areas of management and communication.

He served as a Member of Parliament in the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic from 2011, where he held several roles, including coordinator of the Parliamentary Committee on Economy and Vice President of the parliamentary group for economic affairs. He also served as Vice President of the Portuguese Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries) and as Vice President of the Permanent Specialized Committee on Economy, Environment, and Cooperation.

A lawyer since 1990, he holds a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University. He also completed a postgraduate program in Corporate Communication at Porto Business School and executive training in the Intensive Management Program at Católica Porto Business School.
