Hélder Ribeiro

Hélder holds a Master’s degree in Systems and Informatics Engineering from the Universidade do Minho and has complemented his education with executive programs in Technology, Innovation, and Leadership at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He is currently Chief Digital & Technology Officer at MC Sonae, where he leads an organization of more than 800 professionals across Product, Engineering, Data, Architecture, Infrastructure, and IT. His work focuses on digital transformation and the enterprise-scale adoption of Artificial Intelligence. He believes that motivated, empowered, and high-performing teams are the key driver for turning technology into real competitive advantage and sustainable business impact.

Before joining MC Sonae, he served as Chief Product & Technology Officer at Farfetch for eight years, where he led the growth of the technology team from around 200 to more than 2,000 professionals. This journey was marked by innovation at global scale, the development of world-class engineering cultures, and the management of technological complexity in a hypergrowth environment.

He began his career as a Software Engineer, followed by more than 15 years in Consulting and Product Management, with extensive experience leading multidisciplinary and global teams in digital transformation contexts. He is a strong advocate of technology as a strategic business enabler and of leadership as a driver of security, innovation, and sustainable growth for both people and organizations.
