Piet-Hein Bakker started his professional career, in 1990, as company lawyer of a Dutch TV production company, Joop Van Den Ende Productions. In 1994, he was sent out to Portugal, to set up the local company of Endemol (result of a merger between Van Den Ende and John de Mol). Piet-Hein managed the company during 14 years, producing all major formats of the Endemol catalogue, amongst which major successes such as Chuva de Estrelas and Big Brother.
In 2007, Piet-Hein left Endemol to set up his own production company CBV, backed up by the venture capital fund of Joop Van Den Ende. In this period, he produced a variety of shows, like The Voice Portugal, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, and many more.
In 2014, Piet-Hein set up SP Entertainment, a TV production company within the SP Televisão Group, Portugal’s largest independent production house. As of then, his company has been involved in the production of several projects, amongst which the Eurovision 2018 Finals held in Lisbon.
Piet-Hein Bakker graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 1990 with a degree in Dutch Law, with specialization in IP Law.
