Representing the fourth generation of the largest Portuguese family business group, with almost 150 years of history, Paula Amorim is President of Amorim Investimentos e Participações, SGPS, SA, which integrates in its portfolio Corticeira Amorim, the world’s largest producer of cork.
Born in Porto, Portugal, she has been a member of Galp’s Board of Directors since April 2012 and Chairman since October 2016.
As a natural sucessor to the Américo Amorim Group, Paula Amorim is a shareholder and a member fo the Group’s family holding, Amorim Holding II, SGPS, SA. She joined the Américo Amorim Group in 1992, at the age of 19, and since then has held many management and board positions.
In 2005 Paula founded her own company, Amorim Fashion. Five years later founded the Amorim Luxury Group.
Her personal interest and experience in the fashion industry were key factors for the family group to become a major investor in Tom Ford International (TFI) in 2007, where she is a member in the Board of Directors.
Together with José Neves (CEO of Farfetch), she is one of the members of PLATAFORME’s Board of Directors, the “luxury customization platform” for big brands. In April 2017, in partnership with Miguel Guedes de Sousa inauguraed JNcQUOI Avenida and Asia in 2018, a cross-sectional lifestyle project.
The Amorim Luxury Group will soon develop its first project in the real estate and hotel sector with the development of JNcQUOI Comporta.
