Since May of 2017, is APICCAPS President (Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers’ Association).
In 2014 was recognized with Portuguese honorary status of “Ordem de Mérito Empresarial Classe do Mérito Industrial”.
In 1993, inspired by his family shoemaking tradition and the desire of feathering design shoes for the future generations, Luís Onofre designed his first shoes, but the first international collection holding his signature was only launched in 1999. And this led to the birth of Luís Onofre brand.
He studied Fine Arts at Soares dos Reis School of Arts, in Porto and later attended the Design & Pattern Cutting for Footwear course at CFPIC – Design and Footwear Academy, in São João da Madeira.
Luís Onofre was born in 1970, in Oliveira de Azeméis. Born in the heart of the Portuguese
footwear industry and within a family dedicated to a traditional business focused in the
manufacturing of luxury footwear, soon he became fascinated by handmade shoes and by what is entitled in this unique craft.
