António Lobo Xavier is Partner of MLGTS, Deputy-Chairman of BPI and Board Member of NOS, Mota-Engil and Riopele.
Works with large national listed companies in the areas of banking, telecommunications and public works, as Non-Executive Board Member, as well as Adviser on finance and tax law; he has also been responsible for several organizational and restructuring transactions.
António Lobo Xavier has also actively step in several national and international arbitrations, namely as arbitrator of the Portuguese Administrative Arbitration Center or the CCI Lisboa.
He was Member of the Portuguese Parliament, and between 1992 and 1994 he led CDS’ bench (Portuguese Conservative Party).
Member of the Fiscal Reform Committee of 1998 and Chairman of the 2013 Corporate Tax Reform Committee.
Member of the Advisory Council for the President of the Portuguese Republic (since April 2016).
Has also been, for more than fifteen years, a commentator on weekly television political debate programs.
Holds a Law Degree by the Law Faculty of Universidade de Coimbra (1982) and a Master’s Degree in Law and Economics by the Law Faculty of Universidade de Coimbra (1988).
