Ana Paula Serra has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Banco de Portugal since September 2017.
She is a member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank, the Board of Supervisors of the European Banking Association and represents the Banco de Portugal on the Statistical Council.
She was a Member of the Board of Auditors of the Banco de Portugal, Deputy Director of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto and Associate Dean at Porto Business School (University of Porto).
She was a member of the Advisory Board of the Portuguese Treasury and Debt Management Agency.
She was also a member of the Board of Auditors of Banco Português de Investimento in Porto, where she spent five years as a Financial and Technical Advisor to the Management Control Department.
She is a faculty member at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto, where she was Programme Director of the MSc. in Finance and the MSc. in Management Sciences. At Porto Business School she has taught MBA, Post-Graduate and Executive Education programmes and been Director of various Post-Graduate programmes at Porto Business School.
She is a Researcher at the Center for Economics and Finance at the University of Porto. She has published various works in her areas of expertise.
She graduated in Economics at the University of Porto and has an MBA from Instituto Superior de Estudos Empresariais of the University of Porto and a PhD in Finance from London Business School.
